My PT Cruiser Is Hurt!

Yesterday I had to got out and I stopped at Safeway on my way home to get a bag of potatoes.  I got my groceries and got in the car.  I sat for a few minutes because I treated myself to a Starbucks vanilla latte!  I love them!

I started to back up and all was well until I saw a van!  I stopped!  OMG!  She didn't stop and hit my car!  The bumper, tail light and passenger back quarter panel all need to be replaced!

We got an estimate today and it was $3,800.00.  Can you believe it?  We have collision on our old 2006 PT Cruiser so the insurance should cover it.  But I stopped!  If she had stopped, this wouldn't have happened.

When she got out of her van, I could see she was an older woman and I didn't know what to do!  I got my cell out and called hubby!  He said to call police, but I didn't have the police number on my cell!  OMG!  My anxiety disorder was kicking in really bad.  So I called 411!  As we were both ok and our vehicles were driveable, I was instructed to go to the nearest Police detachment.  So this lady and I met each other at the Police Detachment.

I am waiting for an adjuster to call me and let me know what to do next.

My son says they may write my car off!  OMG!  It only has 71,000 km on it for a 2006, that's insane!  This can't happen!  I love my car!

Christmas Tree Is Up!

Our grand daughter Meylann always decorates our tree!  It looks just like last year, but I love it!

My son got this from his kindergarten teacher 35 years ago.  Some things you just can't part with!

Homesick - Coming Home

I have been away from home since October 12, 2014.  We left Vancouver on October 18 and arrived in Yuma on October 24th.

We went to Mexico a few days ago!  That was a real treat!

There is my sister and I.  "The Mint" in Mexico greet you with drinks!  I don't like beer.. lol!

This has been a wonderful holiday however I am homesick and will be returning home on December 5th.  I sure miss hubby and my kids!

I never did any art at all the whole time I have been away!  We have been busy!  I can't wait to get back to my art room!

I will be making videos real soon!

Back In Hospital - Sept. 28/14 - UPDATE!!

I got my results today and all is well. No cancer! Prayers have been answered!
So I am off to Yuma, AZ soon!

I was back in hospital with a problem breathing again.  Went to emergency and they did lots of tests and I was told I had fluid between the lining and the lung.  A Pleura Effusion.

I was sent home on Monday and had to go back on Thursday for  thoracentesis.  Now is the waiting game... 10 days for them to find out if there is cancer in the fluid they took out.

I was supposed to be leaving for Vancouver on the 8th of October and head to Yuma, AZ with my sister and hubby in their motor home, but all that is off now.  I don't feel well enough to go.

I pray all is well with my tests!

The Documented Life Project

I thought some of you that are doing this project might like a "week-at-a-glance" calendar, so I created two for you.  This is 8.50 x 11" in 2 colors (grey and white).

Christmas Tree Is Up

Our granddaughter has been decorating our Christmas Tree for the last 6 years! I so adore her!  We have a narrow wall to put our very tall tree against.  I love it here in the middle of the living room:)

Here is how it looks!

My Studio - Back In Basement

I have been slowly getting things back in place after the flood in June. I tried to set up in the kitchen, but it was a mess all the time and didn't look good to visitors. So back in the basement. We sold the office cubicles and I really miss them. My new desk is not in a happy place for me. I am struggling to even go down there.

I have my work space for Project Life set up and love it. I enjoy doing project life, but not every week. I tried that last year, but my life is just not that interesting.

I may do an art page from time-to-time, but not so much anymore and when I do, I will be uploading a video to YouTube.

Hope you are all well, until next time....

Hugs, Deb

Studio Is Moving Again

As you all know I have been ill.  I am better, but not feeling well yet.  Don't know why but I just don't feel well.

A month or so ago we moved some of my studio up to the kitchen as we had a flood in our basement.  Well, it is going back downstairs because I hate the way my kitchen looks with all my supplies!  It looks so messy even when it's clean, I can't stand it!

So I found a beautiful table and chairs on Kijiji and hopefully hubs and my son will get it all moved by the end of the weekend.

Will take pics soon!

It Never Rains, But Pours!

I am recovering from the pulmonary embolism and last night our hot water tank blew up!  I couldn't believe it!  Hubs went downstairs to get some ice from the freezer and we were flooded!  Again!!  Of course I could not help, but our son and hubs got it cleaned up!

Water was gushing from a pipe from the hot water tank and just soaked everything!  All our storage was soaked, but thank goodness, only some old shoes and boots went into the garbage!

Some of our Christmas decorations got wet but are drying now.

The complex we live in, replaced the water tank today!

Geesh!

Pulmonary Embolism

Friday was pretty much a normal Friday.  Hubs always has Friday and Saturday off.  We were excited that we were getting a new stove from the place we rent.  I have been cleaning ovens by hand for over 15 years and I don't have to any more!  The new stove was supposed to arrive on Friday, but got postponed until Saturday.

I was feeling a bit uncomfortable on Friday night, couldn't sit in my recliner.  One of my back ribs hurt but not so bad after I moved to my the kitchen which is now my studio due to water in our basement in June.  I went to bed fairly early because of the new stove arriving sometime on Saturday.

When I got up on Saturday morning about an hour later, I was having a hard time breathing.  The pain in my back on the left side was getting worse.  I thought I must have done something to bruise the rib or something.  I tried laying back in my recliner and that made it worse.  I tried laying on the couch and could not find a spot where it didn't hurt.  So after about a half hour I got up from the couch and hubs was having a nap on the love seat, so I went outside and sat on the patio.  My pain seemed to be relieved some.

Hubs got up from his nap and came outside and we had a few cocktails together.  My pain seemed to go away.

At about 5:30 my pain came back like block-busters!  I was now taking small little breaths because I could not take a deep one!  The pain was excruciating!  Hubs said we are going to the hospital.

We got to the hospital at about 7:30 pm and I waited in the waiting room till almost 1:00 am.  When they finally got me into a bed in ER, they put me on oxygen right away and my blood pressure was 78/41.  Around 5:00 am the Dr. finally put me on some pain medications and I was quite loopy, but feeling much better.

I was sent by ambulance to another hospital to have a Cat Scan (with dye).  That's when they found the blood clot in my left lung.

I came home the same day as I can inject myself with the blood thinners and I also have to take pills.  I will be getting a call from the people at the  Thrombosis Clinic at the Royal Alex Hospital on Tuesday.  Wouldn't you know all this happened on the long weekend and they were closed.  I am terrified!

My son took this pic of me in hospital:

Shelves Are Up

The Ikea shelves are up but they are not capable of holding anything with a bit of weight so hubs will be adding brackets under them tonight!  Woot!  I can't wait to bring up the rest of my supplies!

I will have a picture for you later on tonight if it's not too late!

My Muse Is Gone

I have been trying to do some art in my journal and I just can't find my place... my muse is gone!  It has been gone for quite a while.

Maybe it's because I've been struggling with stuff!  Mind stuff.  You know the kind of thoughts that wander and just can't keep your mind on one thing.

I am thinking I should be doing something else, not art.  It feels like I'm lost and don't know which way to turn.  Something stifling my ideas.  Can't put them on paper.  Although, I have never been a writer in my journal.   I want to be, but just can't find the words.

I have had to move up to the kitchen due to water in our basement and hubs has the TV so loud, I can't concentrate!  Do I blame him?  No.  I have just lost my muse.... hopefully it will come back soon.

Walking On Water: Reflections On Faith And Art

I noticed a number of my friends on Facebook were reading this and then art journaling about it, so I thought I would too!

Should be here in about a week, horray!

Here is the book....

Walking On Water: Reflections On Faith And Art
by Madeleine L'Engle

In Walking On Water, Madeleine L''Engle addresses the questions, What makes art Christian? What does it mean to be a Christian artist? What is the relationship between faith and art? Through L''Engle''s beautiful and insightful essay, readers will find themselves called to what the author views as the prime tasks of an artist: to listen, to remain aware, and to respond to creation through one''s own art.

This is the book for me for sure!  I am excited to get it!

My Kitchen Studio - 3

I have to blog about my new "kitchen studio" because it is filling up fast!  I have been moving things into the drawers of my cubbies, but not enough space for me to keep my Silhouette Cameo hooked up.  I will need to move it when I need it, but that's not so bad.

I have the webcam ready for Ustream, I haven't checked it yet but will get it!

Here are more pics of how it looks today...

Water is waiting for me to start painting!  I am needing a fix!  LOL!

My Kitchen Studio

I am working hard at moving my studio! Water in the basement has left our carpet smelling bad, so everything has to be cleared out in that area so we can rip out the carpet.

My studio is now in the kitchen!  Can you believe it?  I am now on the main floor and we sold our kitchen table and will now be eating on the island in the kitchen.

Hubs put together my "Ikea Expedit Desk Combo" and we brought up my cubbies, but there is so much to do yet!  I took some pics of my "Kitchen Studio".

I have it done!  Horray!

Effy Wild - BLOGALONG!

Effy Wild is having a 30 day blogalong.  This means to post to my blog 30 times in August!

We have had some water issues in our basement so I am moving my art space to our kitchen.  I'm sure it will take me a month to get it set up and I thought I would get on the bandwagon and blog about it.
